Chinese New Year is an important holiday celebrated by the Chinese community. This is also known as The Spring Festival. Countries such as Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore are the ones who celebrate this as a major holiday; but communities with the Chinese descent are also influenced by this tradition.
This holiday normally lasts for a week wherein it is spent mostly with loved ones and friends and the traditions never change thru the years. Putting up red lanterns and receiving red envelopes, wearing new red clothes, eating and putting lucky food and fruits on the table, as well as using fireworks to attract good luck and good fortune are part of the tradition.
